Type 1 Diabetes is fatal if untreated and disadvantaged children in South-East Asia still suffer because of limited access to basic healthcare. We are trying to change this.
This is Pasil
She is the first person ever to be diagnosed and treated for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) in Laos.
In 2016, Pasil arrived at hospital in a diabetic coma after a two-day journey in the back of a pickup truck.
Working with local health authorities, A4D supported Pasil in her recovery and provided her with free insulin and blood testing equipment.
A4D now supports close to 80 young people in Laos with ongoing Type 1 Diabetes care who would not be alive without the work that we do.
